Section 748 of NCUA’s Rules and Regulations and Section 5193 of the NCUA Accounting Manual specify credit unions’ security responsibilities.  This program is designed for individuals who have little or no previous training in credit union security.  If you have been the security officer for less than three years or have been newly assigned, this is the webinar for you.  If you have been the security officer for many years, this is a great refresher course on your position’s requirements.  We will review security best practices as well as things a security officer should never do. Items of particular interest include:

  1. Which staff members should be trained on security issues?
  2. When should you obtain help from law enforcement, regulators, or other security officers?
  3. Where to obtain training for special security problems, like internal fraud
  4. Reporting to the board within a limited amount of time
